CAPT. IDRIS WADA PRESENTS 2014 PROPOSED BUDGET ESTIMATE TO THE KOGI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

The Budget is tagged, "Budget of Reality".
Kogi State Governor Idris Wada presented a the
honourable House, a budget proposal of
N128,720,397,305 billion for next year.
The ‘Budget of Reality’ is N3.956.447.110 (2.98
per cent) lower than the present budget of
N132.676.844.415.
Presenting the budget at the House of Assembly,
Wada said the ‘balanced’ budget was aimed at
speedy transformation of the state.
He said over N58 billion would be used to finance
recurrent services, while N70.2 billion would be
expended on capital programmes and projects.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BUDGET:
*Establishment of a State Television station
*Construction of Otokiti-Ganaja Bye pass multi-
lane
carriage way
*Fly-over bridge at Ganaja junction, Lokoja.
*Construction of 500 units of residential Housing
Scheme.
*A modern intercity Mass Transit system will be
established in Lokoja and LGA headquarters while
an Intercity Bus Service will be launched in the
New Year.
*Reticulation and metering of Greater Lokoja
Water Supply Scheme to Lokoja metropolis.
*Maintenance and Rehabilitation of all State roads
through Kogi State maintenance Agency.
*Upgrading of Ajaokuta-Ayingba Transmission line
and distribution to Local Government Areas/
Communities
*Expansion and Asphalt overlay of New Market-
Murtala-Mohammed-Barracks-Kabba Junction
Road.
*Construction of additional post Flood Housing
Scheme.
*Street Lighting (Road)
*Radio booster Equipment and Transmitter at
Otite, Egbe and Ochaja
*Construction of Idah, Kabba, Agassa-Upogoro
Township Roads.
*Western Water Supply Scheme to cover Kabba,
Ogidi, Mopa, Isanlu, Egbe and Aiyegunle, Aiyetoro-
Gbede and Omi.
*Renovation of Primary and Post Primary Schools
across the state.
*Re-modeling and re-designing of Kogi Hotels to
standard.
*Construction of Isanlu Township Road, Idah-
Ayingba road, Iyale-Odolu-Oganenigu road,
Oguma-Kpanche-Abejukolo road, Ankpa-Okenyi-
Ag
uyaya road, ogbonicha-Ogugu-Ofante, Ibado-
Ogodu-Ollah road, Kpareke-Adangere road,
Akpogu-Ozugbe-Girinya road, Obehira-Arigo-A
gassa-Ovete road and Ogaminana-Eboga-Ipaku-
Kuroko junction road.
*Re-modification and upgrade of the international
Conference Centre and Chalet of the Confluence
Beach Hotel and construction of a Golf Course,
Tennis court and swimming Pool.
*Central Water Supply to cover Okene, Ekuku,
Adogo, Ogori-Magongo, Essomi, Egge, Idoji,
Kuroko, Obangede, Nagazi, Oboroke and Ikuchi.
*Lokoja-Banda-Karara-Izih-Ohono-Jamata-
Koton-
Karfe Electrification Scheme
*Payment of WAEC Examination fees for final year
students in all secondary schools in Kogi State.
*Eastern Water Project Scheme to cover Ejule,
Odu-Okpakili, Idah, Ankpa, Agaliga, Imane, Ajaka,
Anyigba and Oguma.
*Kogi State University's projects including Hostels,
college of Medicine and Accreditation of courses.
*Development of Ultra-Modern stop-over Motor
park.
* Kogi State Polytechnic's project including
Students Hostels and Accreditation of courses.
*Purchase of Integrated Rice Milling Machines
*Construction of 40 Bed - General Hospital at
Odu-
Ogboyaga including equipment.
*Construction of 11 Storey building (KOGI STATE
HOUSE) at Abuja.
*Vehicle loans to civil servants.
