The media office of the Rivers State Deputy Governor has confirmed to NEWSMAN that Governor Rotimi Amaechi has visited the scene of the explosion at his deputy's office where a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) is said to have exploded. Chief Press Secretary to Rivers State Deputy Governor, Godswill Jumbo confirmed the explosion in a telephone interview with NEWSMAN and disclosed that the Deputy Governor Tele Ikuru is unharmed and safe. Jumbo disclosed that the Rivers State government is putting together a press statement to explain how the disaster occured and emergency efforts immediately put in place by the government.
