A judge ordered Chris Brown on February 28 to stay for two more months in rehab at a Malibu treatment center. Brown had entered the drug rehab and anger management program in January, but must be tried on an assault charge (that violated his probation for the Rihanna assault) in Washington, D.C. first.
The judge will then decide whether Brown can leave or should be jailed.
CNN
reports that the R&B singer appeared disappointed but reacted
calmly to the decision, by closing his eyes and meditating for about
five minutes. Following the hearing, he tweeted, “Never really goes the
way u plan. #LIFE.” So far, Brown has resisted staying in rehab for long, but with little success.
In November he checked out just 16 days later,
to begin court-ordained community service with intentions to resume
treatment at an Los Angeles outpatient center. After he tried to leave,
though, Brown was instead sentenced to 90 days of rehab
after he walked outside and threw his mother’s car windshield. Reports
say that at the time, Brown’s mother wished that he stay in treatment.
Later, court documents obtained by TMZ said that his anger issues may
be triggered by bipolar disorder, severe insomnia, post-traumatic
stress disorder and “inappropriate self-medicating.”
The facility center reports that Brown wakes up at 5 a.m. daily and
reports to a highway cleanup labor crew in Los Angeles three times a
week, with a “beyond exemplary” attitude.
